Field Action and Advocacy

TGI-WB actively engages in field-based projects and advocacy initiatives. These projects address issues such as pastoralism, natural resource management, and biodiversity conservation. The Institute believes that policy change should be informed by ground-level experiences and empirical evidence. By linking field action with advocacy, TGI-WB contributes to the development of alternative policy frameworks at local, national, and global levels.

TGI-WB has evolved and been facilitating a composite combination of field action and advocacy in the form of the Western Balkans Regional Gatherings of Pastoralists (WBRG), as depicted on the website www.minoritymap.org. These are about 12 events being organized at municipality level in which the local municipalities and communities are not only participating but also contributing their resources. TGI-WB has put in place teams of nearly 20-25 active volunteers on the ground to mobilize the human and material resources for each of the 12 Zonal Gatherings. A film “Tranzit Documentary Film on Shepherds” is also supported by TGI-WB.
